Introductory e-Workshop 1
Life Management Strategy 1: Define your Home Culture through Mission, Vision, and Values Statements

What are Mission, Vision, and Values Statements? Why are they so important in setting corporate culture?  Why do so many companies have them, yet so few families embark on creating them?

In this Module you will learn:
 - What Mission, Vision, and Values Statements are and examine some corporate examples
 - Best practice on reapplying these principles to home life with some specific examples. Couples will have the opportunity to “fast forward” through life and consider their goals through different lifestages (where do you want to be at 50? Or 70?) also giving consideration to their children, parents, and/or spouses concurrent goals.  This forward planning helps to foresee interdependencies and opportunities (ie. planning a sabbatical) as well as manage “stress points” (ie. ailing parents) before they happen.
- How to complete your own Family Mission, Vision, and Values statement and why this can help

Couples will leave this Module with an understanding of the role explicit Mission, Vision, and Values statements play in defining culture at home and guiding behaviours.  They will have worked through their Vision Worksheet and will have developed their own Vision, Mission, and Values statements with the templates provided.
